about us

The seminar house Hof Kuppen

From 2006 onwards, Ingrid Hufen-Röck and husband Siegfried Röck, with the active support of family and friends, have created in a former farm on the Kuppen hill in Halscheid, a place where people can meet and work on humanities, spiritual and health issues. The former barns and stables have been converted into a seminar room and group accommodation. We have also set up a number of guest accommodations in the main building. After further renovations, such as the kitchen and dining room, office, sanitary areas, etc., we were finally able to start running the seminar house as "Hof Kuppen" from 2010 onwards.

In 2013 Andreas Basigkow and 2014 Rebecca Hufen, Ingrid Hufen-Röck's children, joined the team. Andreas previously worked as an educator at an integrative all-day school in the south of Cologne and now takes care of matters in the seminar house. Rebecca is a Tibetologist and was a lecturer for Tibetan at the University of Hamburg. Together with Do Tulku Rinpoche she founded a center for Buddhist studies, contemplation and meditation, the " Arya Tara's Net gUG ". Do Tulku Rinpoche is the center's spiritual director and resident lama. Hof Kuppen is one of the main teaching locations of Arya Tara's Net. Rebecca is also a yoga teacher and also offers courses at Hof Kuppen. You can find more information on her website yoga-auf-dem-kuppen.de. In 2015 and 2020 Rebecca's and Rinpoche's children were born, Pema and Tsering, and turned our Hof Kuppen into a three-generation house.

Anyone who has been to us before will also know our two boys: Shepherd mix "Rufus" and Pulli "Pumi". With sadness in our hearts, we must announce that they have both left us. Rufus died of bone cancer far too early in November 2020 at the age of only 13. Pumi, on the other hand, who came to us with a terrible past and was actually always our problem child, turned old. The following year, November 2021, he passed away at the age of 17.

Now the mixed breed dog "Greetje" (Dutch for "Pearl" - and that's what she is) with us. She too has had a difficult time and is settling in slowly and carefully. Therefore, she is currently only occasionally in the main house when there are no guests.

Four cats live in the Hof Kuppen, but they do not come into the houses. They live in the barn, with the chickens and wherever it is cozy outside.

At the moment we have 12 chickens of different breeds in the "Happy Girls Flat Share". Without a cock in the coop, they delight us and our guests with their light and dark brown, white, spotted and blue-green eggs. Since last year five rabbits live close to the seminar building in a spacious enclosure.
